Ryan lives in West Hollywood with his Subaru Forester nicknamed the "Night Queen." He grew up in Woodland Hills, CA to Mexican and British parents. His existence is what it's like to see Michael Caine in a telenovela.
Music has been a part of his life since he picked up the trumpet in 5th grade. He is also an avid guitar player and can hang on piano and drums. He got his B.A. in Communication and Video Production from Santa Clara University, where he also conducted the Bronco Pep Band. Like any self-respecting comedy writer, he has a band. They are called Matacanes and released their first EP in 2019.
In 2010, he co-founded The Warp Zone YouTube channel, where they have produced at least one pop culture parody video a week. Since then, the channel has been on a daily production schedule, amassing over 3 million subscribers and over a billion video views. Ryan writes all of the musical content for the channel, including original music videos, parodies, unplugged compositions, acapella arrangements and his bread and butter, Recap Raps. On the whole, music content on the channel has accounted for over 40 million views.
He honed his chops in improv and standup at the Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica and has performed at venues all over LA like the Hollywood Improv and El Portal in NoHo. He brings his unique flair for comedic timing to his current work as a video editor for Hearst Magazines and a podcast engineer for actor Michael Rosenbaum's "Inside of You" and "Talkville" shows.
In high school, Ryan quarterbacked a winless, yet spirited, football team. His athletic endeavors continue now as a goalkeeper for a co-ed soccer squad and as a centerfielder for the 3-time Sepulveda Basin C+ League champions, "Murray's Pest Control" softball team.
